GIBB Meeting 2018

Modena, June 21-23, 2018
The meeting is open to the International Community with its unique format, which is mostly based on oral presentations given by Junior Scientists (PhD Students and Postdocs), along with lectures given by leading scientists in the field of bioenergetics. During this meeting we will host Dr. Pia Alderoth (Stockholm University, Sweden), Prof. Torsten Friedrich (Freiburg University, Germany), Dr.Claudio Procaccini (CNR Napoli) and Dr. Paolo Ettore Porporato (Università di Torino).

Registration fee

Conference registration fee is 100,00 € for undergadauate students, PhD students, and Post Docs, and 120,00 € for researchers and professors. Registration includes lunches, coffee breaks and social dinner.

Modena and Emilia Romagna are renowned for their hospitality and superb traditions for fine food, and for the world-famous traditional balsamic vinegar. Modena is the hometown of Enzo Ferrari, the founder of Ferrari, and the factory and the museum of Ferrari cars are only 10 km far from the conference venue. The meeting program will include a social dinner in a scenic restaurant in Piazza Grande, the heart of the city in front of the Cathedral and Ghirlandina Tower, UNESCO World Heritage Site.


Venue

The Meeting will be held in the Monastery of San Geminiano, a beautiful ex monastery in the city centre of Modena, which currently hosts the Faculty of Law of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.


Transportation

Modena is 40 km far from Bologna; it is well connected to Italy and Europe thanks to the airport of Bologna – Guglielmo Marconi, served by major Airlines and low-cost Carriers (www.bologna-airport.it), to the railway station, to the high speed train station of Reggio Emilia AV (20 km from Modena), and to the A1 and A22 motorways.

Oral presentations and abstract submission Deadline

21th May 2018.
The abstracts, not exceeding one A4 page and with the presenting author name underlined, should be submitted on-line at www.gibb-be.org. Please utilize the abstract form present in the web site. Oral presentations usually last 10 min + 5 min discussion (final info will be provided when all abstracts are received). English will be the official language at the meeting.
