The meeting is open to the International Community with its unique format, which is mostly based on oral presentations given by Junior Scientists (PhD Students and Postdocs). The plenary lectures will be delivered by Ambre Bertholet (UCLA), Diego De Stefani (Padova), Erich Gnaiger (Innsbruck) and Leonid Sazanov (Vienna).

Located in the heart of the city, the Congress Centre of Riva del Garda combines an extraordinary location on the shores of the lake with a strategic position.
Transportation
By car: The closest highway exit is Rovereto Sud on the A22 Brennero highway (A22-exit “Rovereto Sud - Lago di Garda Nord”). The highway exit is 17 km from the congress center.
By train: The closest railway station is Rovereto, 22 km away from the congress center. This train station is on a main high-speed train line. The Italian railway system website is www.trenitalia.com (tickets can be purchased either online and at the train station).
From Rovereto train station you can reach Riva del Garda by local bus (www.trentinotrasporti.it/en - ask the bus driver or your hotel receptionist for the most convenient bus stop in Riva del Garda) or by taxi (Taxi Rovereto +39.0464.480066).
By airplane: The closest airport is the Valerio Catullo Airport of Verona Villafranca. This airport is 82 km – 1h by train (Rovereto is the nearest railway station) from the congress venue and it is directly connected with the main European hubs (Rome, Munich, Frankfurt, London and Paris).

These are all about 2-3 hours away by train. Shuttle buses are available from each airport to the main train stations.

Oral presentations and abstract submission Deadline
30th April 2023.
The abstracts, not exceeding one A4 page and with the presenting author name underlined, should be submitted on-line at www.gibb-be.org. Please utilize the abstract form present in the web site. Oral presentations usually last 10 min + 5 min discussion (final info will be provided when all abstracts are received). English will be the official language at the meeting.
Programme
The third International Meeting of the Italian Group of Biomembranes and Bioenergetics (GIBB) will take place in Riva del Garda between 14:00 of Thursday, June 8th and lunchtime or early afternoon of June 10th, 2023.
The Conference will be open to an International audience, and usually attracts a good number of groups active in Bioenergetics.
A unique feature of our meeting is that – with the exception of the invited lectures of 30 minutes – the oral presentations are given by Graduate Students and Postdocs, which makes for a lively and supportive atmosphere. Riva del Garda is a wonderful venue, and the Conference Center is right at the lake front where also the social events will take place.
